Acapulco Photos![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Acapulco Vacations - Enjoying a Favorite Mexican Vacation DestinationOne of the interesting things about Mexico is its history. The Mayan and Aztec civilizations were established here and then for 300 years Mexico was taken over by the Spanish. By 1821, they had regained their independence. Today, Mexico is a beautiful country to explore, whether you want to see the beaches, the deserts, archaeological sites or hang out in the more popular cities and be the tourist. One of the most popular places to visit while touring Mexico is Acapulco. A mode of transportation is necessary, though not necessarily expensive. For less than $100 you can fly to just about anywhere within Mexico. However, if you want to really explore all Mexico has to offer, you might consider renting a car once you've flown in to the desired city. This tends to be more efficient. Some things you need to know when making travel plans to Mexico. You will need a valid passport to enter the country. Make sure you have your passport stamped for the allotted time you plan on staying or you may not be able to board your plane or leave the country. Likewise, if you change your travel plans and decide to stay longer, you'll need to get this updated. Make sure you know what you can bring into and take out of Mexico. Once you've landed or driven into Mexico, exchange your money for pesos so you are able to use it more wisely. Now that you have your money and the necessary information to enjoy Mexico to its fullest, what are you going to do in Acapulco? If you want to see something spectacular, make sure you visit the Coyuna Lagoon. It is a tropical jungle filled with beautiful vegetation. You can arrange to have a tour around the lagoon and visit some of the restaurants to try the local fare. Once you are done, enjoy a siesta on the beach or try your hand at some scuba diving. If you want something with a bit more adventure, watch the local cliff jumpers dive into a 9 foot deep channel from 136 feet! You could be sitting on the edge yourself at the Perla restaurant, though in a completely different way. This might sound crazy to some, but is an Acapulco longstanding tradition. You can find out exactly how the cliff divers feel by scaling the cliff and jumping in yourself. But realize this isn't for the faint of heart. Perhaps the nightlife is as exciting as you want to go. Acapulco certainly has some of the hottest action around. Make sure to visit the Palladium, probably the largest and most famous club Acapulco has to offer. If you are looking for something more sedate or romantic, try Siboney. Siboney is a piano bar found high in the hills above Acapulco. Piano music is performed by professionals and amateurs alike. Whatever you decide to do in Acapulco, know that the weather will accommodate just about any adventure, ranging usually from about 72-91 degrees, with sunny skies throughout the year. Vacationing in Mexico is a favorite for people from all around the world. Acapulco trips offer rich history, beautiful surroundings and vibrant culture that vacationers will remember for a lifetime.
